WORKER IN AIRPORT MAINTENANCE

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s (BBTCA) Maintenance Lead will direct this position’s maintenance activities.

and maintain in good functioning order all airport equipment, navigational aids, and PortsToronto property.

Typical chores and duties comprise, but are not limited to:

DUTIES

  • Underthe supervision of the Maintenance Lead, maintain and service the equipment and navigational aids on the airfield and ensure that

PortsToronto’s facilities are in good operating order.

  • Perform field maintenance, such as painting and rubber removal, and snow clearance.
  • Adapt to different kinds of emergency scenarios
    As needed,
  • perform wildlife control duties,
  • provide vehicle and airside security escorts in airport restricted zones, uphold security policies, and notify authorities of any violations.

Report Security Branches

  • Reports on surface condition and airport movement should be made available.
  • Examine and purge all locations used for aircraft manoeuvres of F.O.D.

AIRCRAFT MANEUVERING AREAS

  • must adhere to all policies and procedures of PortsToronto, including the Health and Safety policies, procedures, and legal obligations, and must wear the appropriate PPE.

ABILITIES:

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

  • Must hold a current Ontario driver’s license of class “DZ” or above.
  • must have an aeronautical restricted radio operator’s certificate and an airport vehicle operator’s permit (AVOP D), or be able to obtain both in the next month.
  • hold a certificate for Standard First Aid.

an active provincial firearms license Having or being able to receive a certificate (for bird/wildlife control) within three months

To do maintenance tasks in the restricted airport regions, one must have a Transport Canada and a Restricted Area Identity Card, or be able to receive one within three months.

Must have received a Covid-19 immunization in its entirety that has been approved by Health Canada; proof is necessary.

WORK HOURS: Rotating shifts between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays, with a schedule of 6 days on and 3 days off.
